Stephen Metts Continues Community Mobilization Against Pipeline Impacts

2016 Tishman Center Faculty Grant Winner Stephen Metts has been named an awardee of the Faculty Fund for Multimedia Documentation of Engaged Learning. The Fund's main goal is to enhance documentation of socially engaged learning and public scholarship.

Visualizing Pipeline Impacts will support the documentation and public dissemination of two collaborating faculty research projects that mobilize community-based action against gas pipeline impacts within the Tri-State area. These are two multimedia initiatives in partnership with the non-profit Delaware Riverkeeper Network designed for communities within rural/environmental justice zones. Collaborators: Jess Irish, Assistant Professor of Design and Technology, School of Art, Media & Technology, Parsons School of Design Stephen Metts, Part-time Assistant Professor, Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy

Visualizing Pipeline Impacts will build on Mett's Tishman Center-funded project, Mobilizing Maps for Sustainable Communities, a robust open source mapping resource for local community members in their opposition to further expansion of natural gas infrastructure.
